Mishka presents B.K. Scum

Tonight in Brooklyn, Mishka will be opening their doors for a new exhibit from Dust La Rock. The exhibit, B.K. Scum, is entirely inspired by Psychic TV the seminal electronic/industrial band formed by Genesis P-Orridge.
This is a very exciting opening as I have been a fan of Dust’s for some time and have definitely been a fan of Psychic TV/Throbbing Gristle for years. To have both under one roof is kind of a weird “never thought I would see this happen” type thing.
Mishka will use their space to show off their new line also inspired by said noise makers.
::BONUS::
Dust La Rock + Star Eyes (Trouble & Bass) made us a special mixtape for the opening tonight! Lots of rarities and exclusives vocals from Genesis to be found here.

Kinfolk Studios Open House

New York Happenings / Brooklyn
Kinfolk Cycles (JP/NY) is opening the doors to their new studio space tonight in Williamsburg (yeah, I know) from 7 into the night. I am really excited about their new space and can’t wait to see it. I was trying to link with them while I was in Japan this summer, but it just never happened.
This is the start of a new larger based project that should hopefully be completed sooner than later.
Cyclists and enthusiasts should be in attendance as this is an integral part of the community we all should nurture.

Brooklyn Brainery: Upcoming Classes

New York Happenings
Brooklyn Brainery (@bkbrains) sent out their schedule upcoming classes and there are a few that peaked my interest. Mainly the introductory class for start up photographers heading into the realm of interchangeable lenses (always a good place for ideas) and the sociology of food class also has me very interested as I have been doing a grip of analyzing the bond between food and overall wellness.
The classes are held in Carroll Gardens at the Brainery HQ on Court St.
If you are interested in attending these classes, you must learn.

Ninjasonik: When Anxiety Attacks

Recommended Listening / Mixtape
The dudes in Ninjasonik are back at it again with their newest mixtape, When Anxiety Attacks. The homie Roofeeo (@Roofeeo) recently joined the group as their official DJ and just like their live shows his influence is present in the mix.
This is prolly the most punk rock Hip Hop mixtape you will ever hear, unless the Beastie Boys made one 15 years ago, but I doubt that. Adrock, you got anything for me?
The release party for the mix is tomorrow night at Santo’s Party House, but if you can’t make it you can download the mix here for free!
