Keith Haring at Pace Prints
When I was heading back out into the cold, windy streets this weekend I stumbled across a Keith Haring show at Pace Prints. Just a block or two away from Aperture, it wasn’t a hard sell on me to go see some Haring work for free!
The show focuses on the more attainable pop work Haring believed so strongly in. Though there were some larger pieces on display, it was centered around the printmaking and smaller limited edition works.
The show runs through January 7th and is highly recommended to anyone that is a fan of New York’s artistic history.

Their Bones Are Coral Made by kozyndan
This past weekend was spent as I normally do. Walking, camera in hand, stumbling upon randomness. I can’t say I just fall into some of the places I go, but I have a rough idea. However, while I was leaving the AMAZING Alex Webb show at The Aperture Gallery I noticed a flier for a new kozyndan show just one more floor up. Yes please.
Bold Hype Gallery is a nice, comfy gallery that has shown work from some of the bigger names in contemporary art as well as up and coming artists. kozyndan filled the space nicely with pieces ranging in size, but in content the work was very similar. The underlying theme was their unique connection with the ocean. We have seen a glimpse of this in work from the past, but to see a unified vision from piece to piece is special.
I highly recommend making a day of it and taking a walk up the highline with your destination being 547 West 27th Street.
