Lake Side Walk
This was taken while walking around the gorgeous lake during our stay at The Antlers Inn. The “magic hour” really does make everything so pretty.
Antlers Inn Caboose
On my most recent trip to Texas, I took a day trip with Circleface to Kingsland, Texas. The trip was a part of my birthday gift this year and it was probably the best time ever. Kingsland is about an hour West of Austin, near Burnet and Marble Falls. Pretty standard Texas drive that is kind of scenic and not too exhausting.
The stay in Kingsland was at The Antlers Inn on the smaller side of a huge lake. We had access to the lake, their canoe, and paddle boat amongst other cute incentives. The AWESOME thing about the stay were the 3 train cabooses they have on property that have been converted into suites. Everything you need was comfortably inside of the train car with room to spare.
The property also offers bungalows near the lake and single large rooms inside the main hotel that is furnished with some original pieces and mix & match vintage findings that were beautiful. We had the luck of being the ONLY people staying there that night and it was just perfect.
I can’t wait to go back to this hotel, which celebrates it’s 110th anniversary this year.
Train Bulletin
This train schedule is an original dating most likely dating from the 20s into the 30s. The Antlers Inn in Kingsland Texas is now the owner of this amazing piece of American History and it sits in their lobby behind the front desk. The great thing about this piece is the remaining chalk from the last time anyone wrote on it. Hard to read, the writing states the last train in the depot before the depot closed down for good. If I remember correctly, the date is from 1935.
The Antlers Inn
This pretty much sums up my time away the last week and some change. I DJed in Las Vegas a few nights in a row, then made my way down to Texas for some more DJ stuff and to hang with Circleface.
More pics coming soon, but just think about how relaxing this photo is and imagine it was you taking it. Lovin’ it!
