Turntable Lab Radio 008: DJ Soulscape

Finally had the honor to meet DJ Soulscape (@slscp) from Korea a couple of weeks ago. I helped curate some shows for him in the city. Super glad to have had him do a very special guest spot on Lab Radio. I have to say this has been my favorite episode yet!

Soulscape reps 360 Sounds Crew and definitely brings Korean Funk, Disco, and Soul to the tables. So much music I have never heard before done properly.

::NOTE::

Soundcloud coding is acting a little funny, so just click on the text below or subscribe to our podcast.

Turntable Lab Radio 001: Anika

Recommended Listening / DJ Mix

Turntable Lab Radio recently ducked out from the late night shadows of East Village Radio and is now it’s own free standing entity. They kicked off the new and refreshed series with the post punk goodness of Anika.

Anika is one of Stones Throw’s latest signings with her album seeing a release in late 2010. Geoff Barrow’s of Portishead produced the druggy dub record with perfection.

There is an official podcast that you can subscribe to in iTunes as well as a Tumblr page for Lab Radio, bonus Woodman footage of her set at the New York store. Follow them!

You must learn.

Prince Klassen: Turntable Lab Radio

Recommended Listening / DJ Mix

I posted this last week, but wanted to get some traffic going to Turntable Lab’s EVR station. Some folks were bummed there wasn’t a download link, which shows what kind of people we have become (ahem). Either way, I wanted to repost the mix with a download link.

To download the mix, you must learn.

Turntable Lab Radio: Prince Klassen

Recommended Listening / DJ Mix

The Lab put the post up late last night, and the show aired on Thursday morning pretty late or early depending on what kind of person you are. Either way I am so happy to have done this mix for them.

There are a lot of exclusives on the mix, as well as new tunes from mostly homies that I am really feeling.

You can expect a lot of percussive /  jackin’ house tunes.
