Yea.. yea
Smoking a escubano, guzzle my second bottle
Hope I don’t catch a homo (homicide)
Grossing our net
Simultaneously making me climb higher, heinous crimes behind me
Search but can’t find me
Fuck sadness
Had this been you havin’ this lavish
Habitual happiness at me you wouldn’t look backwards
You would have sex on condominium roof decks
So anyone move next
I’ll hit you with two techs
Rocking Roberto Cavalli no shirt on convertible Mazy
My Columbiana mommy ridin beside me
Every tat mean something, that’s my word on my body
I’ll have to lean something wit that Mossberg shotty
My niggas is ignant, put lead in yo pigment
Just cuz y’all was mad at all the years I was getting it
In 97 the six
98 the Bentley
Now it’s the Ghost Phantom
And ya’ll can’t stand ‘em but…

Recommended Listening / DJ Mix
My dude Pump really brought it home with this tribute for Dilla. Lots of great quick mixes + soundbites + solid selection. Thanks so much for this one Pump.
It is amazing how young Dilla was and how much he had already accomplished.
My friend once told me a story about her cultural beliefs that people pass on because they have already accomplished what they were put on Earth for. Looking to the past and seeing how many young great artists have left us it almost makes sense.
This section was taken from a longer mix a few months after his passing. You must learn.

Recommended Listening / DJ Mixtape
Here is the promised second 7L mixtape today and this one is more of a banger in the Hip Hop sense. All the music is Hip Hop from 86-91 and according to 7 it isn’t about the deeper cuts, but just about quality sh*t on this one. I couldn’t agree more with my man. Sometimes just because it’s deep doesn’t mean it’s dope (AND PAUSE).
This mix was done for his homie’s blog and you can learn more about 7, the mix, and the music over there.

The Canadian homie, Dj Hedspin of The Eh! Team Djs is back at it. I am a little late on posting this as I have been gone for a little bit and was unfortunately just not paying attention. Hed made this mix for an upcoming show Diamond D was gonna have in the area and he came thorough as usual.
The mix consists of all thing Diamond D related and it’s in the titles. Songs, Samples and Snippets. What more can you ask for? Just let the good vibes take you away.

Recommended Reading / Listening / Radio Interview
Glen E Friedman seems to always be in the right place at the right time. It is not by chance, however. Friedman clings on to youth/culture as only a true innovator can. His photos have been in galleries, magazines, and museums world wide. Known for his skateboarding photos, he also caught a lot of attention with shooting some soon to be musical celebs both minor/major in the early stages of their career.
His blog generally covers all aspects of his beliefs in music, politics, and overall cultural advocacy. I admire his work and what he represents very much.
This post from two weeks ago shows some of the earliest Beastie Boys photos, pre world wide status. They were taken during their first trip to LA while on tour with a blooming young musical talent named Madonna.
Read more about Friedman’s time with them in LA and listen to a great radio interview on KXLU. You can also see some of the great shots Friedman caught of them while hanging around LA.

The homies from New York, The Rub, have completed their History of Hip Hop mixtape series starting from 1979 all the way up to 2009.
An amazing endeavor indeed, but I am glad that they were the ones to make it happen. Every mix is available for download with tracklist and some with extra info.
