Recommended Listening / DJ Download / Dancehall Blend
This blend came from a mixtape session Sober + myself were having. The mix should be out soon, but until then, we have this blend for your downloading pleasure.
Big Boi’s Shutterbug is one of my favorite tunes from 2010 hands down and I definitely am pleased with the Dancehall flavor we gave it on this one. The Hold Yuh Riddim definitely crossed so many playlists this year and it fit perfectly.
Thanks to Sober for the artwork.

Recommended Listening / Dj Mix
Last Thursday in New York my good friend put on the first of many great parties to come. The monthly event is called Classics Party and is a great concept based around a classic album, which would get played through out the night in entirety, and anything related to said album. The first was Outkast’s Aquemini and Dj Ayres was the DJ for the night. He has blessed us with a great mixtape of all things related to them.

Classics Party Chapter 1: A Celebration of Aquemini
Classics Party is a new project coming from New York, where the goal is to celebrate the monumental “classic” album from any number of modern artists. Playing the entire album throughout the night + music that made that album happen or what that album made happen after it’s inception.
Pretty great idea, as it is basically an “Allmusic.com” party. Meaning, the historical lineage of what led up to said album, and those it influenced to continue the movement.
Dj Ayres of The Rub will be DJing the launch of what is sure to become another New York standard.
You can keep up with the CP crew over at their blog, with great posts of upcoming events as well as write ups on what they deem classic material. You can also follow them on Twitter for instant updates if you got ADD.
Since we got you in the Outkast mood over here at MMM, read these great liner notes from the making of Aquemini. There are some really great stories from Big Boi + Andre. You must learn.
